Siegfried “Siggi” Trzoß, radio host from East-Berlin, works relentlessly torwards his 900th anniversary show. The music he is passionate about is East German Schlager, a genre that has been largely forgotten. But Siggi keeps the dream alive to this day and makes the heart of East german seniors beat faster filled with nostalgia. This short documentary which was shot in only five days shows Siggi during his preperations. "East German Schlager is dead. Long live the East German Schlager" has been shown at multiple national and international film festivals and gained critical acclaim for its sensitivity and tender humor.
